Eritrea visa for Bangladeshis

SECURITY WARNING: the UK government (FCDO) advises against all travel within 25km of Eritrea's land borders and against all but essential travel to the rest of the country; tensions with Ethiopia are high and consular help may be severely limited. For entry, a visa is required. The Eritrean embassy in New Delhi says tourist visa applicants email a passport copy (valid at least 6 months), the entry visa application form, and a CV with travel history; the embassy then advises on payment and passport submission. Its page does not list a fee or processing time, and does not name Bangladesh (it tells applicants outside a listed set of countries to contact their nearest Eritrean embassy). Fee, Bangladesh procedure and processing time are marked for confirmation. Last checked 6 November 2026.

Security warning

Official source checked
  • The UK government advises against all travel within 25km of Eritrea's land borders and against all but essential travel elsewhere in the country. Tensions between Eritrea and Ethiopia are high and a crisis could develop quickly, limiting movement or departure. The UK embassy in Asmara has withdrawn staff dependants. Travelling against official advice may invalidate travel insurance. Travel Counsellor Ltd. does not recommend travel against official advice.

How to apply

Official source checked
  • Business and employment visas begin with the host organisation applying through the Eritrean immigration department. For tourist visas, the New Delhi embassy asks you to email a copy of your passport (valid at least 6 months), the Entry Visa Application Form from its site, and a CV with travel history. After review, the embassy tells you how to pay and send your passport for the visa sticker. Its list of served countries does not include Bangladesh, so ask the embassy whether it accepts Bangladesh-based applicants before sending anything. Verify the email address on the embassy site, because the page shows variant spellings.

Total cost

Confirm with our office
  • Government fee: not published on the embassy page; the fee is advised after approval. Third-party figures are unverified. Courier costs for the passport are extra. Travel Counsellor Ltd. service charges, if any, are quoted separately in BDT by our office.

Processing time

Confirm with our office
  • The New Delhi page gives no processing time. Plan for several weeks and do not buy tickets before the visa is issued. Decisions rest with Eritrean authorities.
