Schengen countries visa for Bangladeshis

• Apply to the state where you will spend the most nights; if equal, the state of first entry. Residents of another country (for example the UAE) normally apply in their country of residence.
• At the consulate or its application centre, for example VFS Global for Germany: choose the correct category, complete the Videx form, pay the VFS service fee, book an appointment, and attend with originals and copies. The passport stays with the Embassy.
• Apply no more than 6 months before travel (9 months for seafarers).

• Adult EUR 90 (about BDT 12,700), child 6 to 12 EUR 45, under 6 free. The visa fee is cash only.
• VFS service fee BDT 2,686 including VAT, prepaid. Optional services are extra.

• Up to 15 calendar days or more. The Embassy gives no exact estimate.

Document checklist

• ✓Signed application form; passport with 2 blank pages, valid at least 3 months beyond departure; colour copies of the bio page of current and previous passports including Schengen visas.
• ✓Photo 3.5 x 4.5 cm taken within 6 months, light or white background; face covers 70 to 80% (VFS Germany). Follow the rule of the state you apply to.
• ✓Travel health insurance valid for the full stay in all Schengen states, at least EUR 30,000, covering emergency treatment and repatriation. Credit card cover is not accepted.

• ✓Cover letter, flight reservation, hotel booking for the full stay.
• ✓Proof of funds: 6 months bank statements and other solvency proof.
• ✓Employees: employment certificate with company address, signatory, position, salary and years of service.
• ✓Self-employed: City Corporation trade licence, incorporation certificate, TIN, 6 months company statements. Students: enrolment and leave letter.
• ✓Civil status: marriage, divorce (Talak Namah), death or birth certificates as applicable.

• ✓Invitation from the host company, proof of recent business contacts, trade fair registration and programme, company letter on purpose, duration and who pays.

• ✓Hospital confirmation of treatment and appointment, estimated duration, proof of funds or prepayment, plus Schengen insurance.

• ✓Parental consent, parents' passports, proof of parents' means, original birth certificate.
