Japan visa for Bangladeshis

• Collect or download the form and submit it in person at the Embassy of Japan, Dhaka, 9:30 to 11:30 on working days. There is an interview at submission.
• Collect the passport 14:30 to 15:30 on the day given. Someone else can collect it with the receipt and a signed authorisation.
• The Embassy page is undated, so confirm the times before you go.

• No fee for Bangladeshi nationals.
• Frequent visitors may get a 1-year multiple-entry visa if each stay is under 90 days and there is no paid activity. This needs a reason letter and proof.
• Reapplying within 6 months of a refusal can be refused.

Document checklist

• ✓Visa application form, valid passport and copy, old passport and copy, cover letter.
• ✓One photo. The Embassy page says 2 x 2 inch taken within 6 months; other sheets say 2 x 1.4 inch. Confirm at the Embassy before printing.
• ✓Airline booking slip; latest 6 months bank statement (personal or company).

• ✓Hotel booking in Japan, visit schedule, income tax certificate and receipts for the latest 3 years if any.
• ✓If a guarantor in Japan pays: invitation, relationship and guarantee letters, plus the guarantor's tax certificate or bank statement or income certificate, with residence registration and passport copy.

• ✓Hotel or guarantor residence letter, tentative schedule, employment certificate or trade licence, invitation letter and contract/L-C if any, guarantee letter, tax certificate and receipts for 3 years, Japanese company registration, guarantor employment letter.

• ✓Invitation letter, guarantee letter, proof of relationship, guarantor's tax/bank/income certificate, zairyu card copy, guarantor's visit schedule, family register or residence certificate where applicable.

• ✓Documents are not returned. If originals cannot be submitted, use a notarised copy. Photocopies on A4.
