Cape Verde (officially Cabo Verde) has required a visa before travel for nationals of listed countries since 1 January 2026. The government's Portal Unico lists Bangladesh as number 6 on that list, and the rule covers entry, airport transit and stopovers. Bangladeshi citizens must apply for the visa before travelling, at the Cabo Verdean embassy or consular post nearest to where they live. The official pages do not name a mission for Bangladesh, so contact our office or the Cabo Verde Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular portal to identify the correct post.

The list of countries needing a prior visa was issued in early 2026 and later corrected from 96 to 91 countries (Cameroon, India, Rwanda, Taiwan and Turkey were removed). Bangladesh remained on the Portal Unico list we read.
Holders of some residence permits (certain EU, European, Brazil, Canada, US residents, subject to readmission guarantees) are exempt according to press coverage of the order. Check your own situation with the embassy.
