Schengen visa আবেদনে ছোট ভুলও refusal-এর কারণ হতে পারে। এই গাইডে আমরা সবচেয়ে সাধারণ ভুলগুলো এবং কীভাবে এড়ানো যায় তা দিলাম। Fees and rules below were checked against VFS Global Germany on 15 October 2026.
1. Not declaring a previous refusal
Declare every earlier refusal on the form and explain it in your cover letter. In one case we reviewed, an application was refused because an earlier French refusal was not declared. পুরোনো refusal লুকালে নতুন আবেদনও ঝুঁকিতে পড়ে।
2. Applying to the wrong state
Apply to the Schengen state where you will spend the most nights. If the nights are equal, apply to the state of first entry. Lodging a Poland trip at the Swedish embassy, for example, is a known cause of refusal. If you live in another country such as the UAE, you normally apply in your country of residence.
3. Wrong insurance
Travel health insurance must cover the full stay in all Schengen states, with at least EUR 30,000 cover for emergency treatment and repatriation. Credit card cover is not accepted.
4. Photo and passport details
The photo is 3.5 x 4.5 cm, taken within the last 6 months, on a light or white background. VFS Germany asks for the face to cover 70 to 80% of the photo. Follow the rule of the state you apply to. Your passport needs 2 blank pages and must be valid at least 3 months beyond your departure.
5. Applying too early or too late
You can apply no more than 6 months before travel (9 months for seafarers). Processing can take up to 15 calendar days or more, and the Embassy gives no exact estimate, so plan ahead.
Fees at a glance (VFS Germany, 15 October 2026)
- Adult visa fee: EUR 90 (about BDT 12,700). Child 6 to 12: EUR 45. Under 6: free. The visa fee is paid in cash.
- VFS service fee: BDT 2,686 including VAT, prepaid. Optional services cost extra.
